This Year we will be celebrating our Book Week during the week commencing 6-10th March. During the week we will be taking part in lots of activities to promote and celebrate the love of reading! Here are the events we will be holding:
Monday 6th March
KS2 - ‘Swap a teacher’, KS2 teachers to rotate around KS2 classrooms to share their favourite story.
Tuesday 7th March
KS1 and FS2 – Bedtime stories. Children to bring pyjamas and a teddy bear (these can be brought in a bag and put on your childs peg until the afternoon session) along with their favourite storybook to share with friends whilst enjoying hot chocolate.
Wednesday 8th March
DEAR day – ‘Drop Everything and Read’ Day. Children to bring their favourite reading book to read during designated reading time when the school bell rings throughout the day.
Friday 10th March
Dressing up day!! All children and staff (parents if you wish!) are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. Parents are invited to join us for ‘Celebration Book Week’ assembly at 9.15am in the school hall where a parade of costumes will take place.
During the afternoon children will take part in a big book quiz as a celebration to end the week.
